The St. Louis Cathedral 18x30 Bas Relief Panel
Sale Price:$500.00 Original Price:$700.00

One of Marc’s most popular and perennial works is his 18”x 30” relief depiction of The St. Louis Cathedral. The work gracefully shows off the beautiful and elegantly sweeping architecture of New Orlean’s most popular and iconic landmark.

Each hand crafted panel is a painstakingly hand stained reproduction taken from the original work created in 2009, and is embellished in gold leaf paint on the steeple crosses and clock, and is signed by the artist in gold. The body of the Cathedral is stained in a weathered, almond/bone finish.

Shipping is available, and we ask 2-3 weeks from order date to time of delivery. Local pickup is also available.

This panel is ready to hang, and is constructed on 5mm wood panel with sturdy 2” x 2” frame construction. We build our own panels in our studio carpentry shop and recycle as much material as possible, including paints, stains, and solvents.

You can browse other finish options below, including neutral finishes, gray wash, and custom colors. Questions? Call the studio at 985 966 7000. Our team will be happy to help you choose the gift of original art, for any occasion.

This soaring and stunning bas relief interpretation of The St. Louis Cathedral captures the iconic New Orleans church in Jackson Square perfectly.

The structure is worn and weathered, while maintaining its elegant and statuesque appearance, a symbol of grandeur to anyone who walks underneath.

Located in the historic French Quarter, it is the oldest continuously active Roman Catholic Cathedral in the United States. It was originally built in 1724 and rebuilt twice after a hurricane and a fire. The present church overlooks beautiful Jackson Square and was dedicated in 1794.

Emphasizing the expeditious nature of the current restoration of the Cathedral, the work is intentionally distressed and slightly broken, adding strength and resilience to the impression of the artwork. Reproduction cast in resin, with almond finish and midnight blue background. 32” wide by 40” tall, local pickup is available.

The work is signed in gold leaf finish and hand titled by the artist. An amazing addition to your New Orleans collection!

Much of Marc’s current work features distressed and weathered elevation detail pieces of The St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, currently undergoing an ambitious restoration and salvage.

Water damage and time have taken their toll on the French Romanticist edifice that gracefully and elegantly embellishes the Mississippi riverfront in Jackson Square.

Each of these works is uniquely adorned, and though they are reproductions from Marc’s original castings, no two are exactly alike, and are distinctive gifts for any occasion.

Gray artwork pairs well with many colors, including blues, pinks, reds, oranges, and more. The best colors to pair with gray depend on the undertone of the gray, with this work being a light wash more than a substantial blackened gray.
