New Orleans Riverbend Map, 24" x 30"
Sale Price: $2,400.00 Original Price: $6,500.00

RARE ORIGINAL

Just added! An original work to anchor your collection, this relief work is Marc’s hand inlaid basswood depiction of the City Of New Orleans, from the edges of Lake Pontchartrain to the West Bank. The Superdome and The St. Louis Cathedral are easy to spot on the map, as each is depicted as a miniature icon.

The work was completed in 2024, and is mounted on a solid wood panel background. Pharoah’s gold metallic paint substrate, finished and hand rubbed with a blend of VersaFine Onyx ink and acrylic paint.

The effect suggests a well worn brass printing plate which has absorbed layers of infused ink through decades of use.

This work was laser scanned and is the original used in all of Marc’s smaller scale reproductions of the Riverbend Map. Own the one and only!

FEATURED WORK: THE JESUIT CHURCH ON BARONNE STREET

The Jesuit Church in New Orleans, also known as Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church, located on Baronne Street, is a highly popular church for weddings.

Tucked gracefully along a corridor of buildings and directly across the street from The Roosevelt Hotel, the Immaculate Conception church was built and designed in the Neo-Venetian Gothic style of Gothic Revival architecture, with Moorish Revival and Byzantine Revival elements.

The work is hand stained, weathered, and precisely distressed to offer a relic like quality that is elegant and distinctive.

At 33” tall, and 22” wide, this Jesuit Church bas relief depiction is perfect for entry way, landing, hall, office, or bedroom. Each work is hand signed and wired for hanging. Limited numbers of this work are available, which is a casting from a larger original.

Makes a perfect gift for wedding, anniversary, or special occasion. Production time is approximately two weeks, and each work is hand crafted to order. Call 985 966 7000 for more information or if you’d prefer the frame out color to be grey wash, or French blue wash.

This soaring and stunning bas relief interpretation of The St. Louis Cathedral captures the iconic New Orleans church in Jackson Square perfectly.

The structure is worn and weathered, while maintaining its elegant, awe inspiring, and statuesque presence, a symbol of grandeur to anyone who walks underneath.

Located in the historic French Quarter, it is the oldest continuously active Roman Catholic Cathedral in the United States. It was originally built in 1724 and rebuilt twice after a hurricane and a fire. The present church overlooks beautiful Jackson Square and was dedicated in 1794.

Emphasizing the expeditious nature of the current restoration of the Cathedral, the work is intentionally distressed and slightly broken, adding strength and resilience to the impression of the artwork.

Reproduction cast in resin, with almond finish and midnight blue background. 32” wide by 40” tall, local pickup is available.

The work is signed in gold leaf finish and hand titled by the artist. An amazing addition to your New Orleans collection!

The full elevation work is cast in durable resin from the original, and then hand painted and stained. You can opt for the contrasting background of mossy grey or select “bone on bone” finish as shown below. The artwork is mounted on solid wood panel and is framed out in 2” x 2” edge lumber. A wire is attached for easy hanging.

Available option: Both the Cathedral and the background color in an off white/almond/bone palette.

Much of Marc’s current work features distressed and weathered elevation detail pieces of The St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, currently undergoing an ambitious restoration and renovation.

Water damage and time have taken their toll on the French Romanticist edifice that gracefully and elegantly embellishes the Mississippi riverfront in Jackson Square.

This full elevation of the church is intentionally distressed and weathered and worn by time, and features a grey and mossy background and gold embellishments on the crosses and clock (here shown set at 12 noon, but default is Marc’s preferred setting of 2 pm).

This stunning bas relief depiction of The St. Louis Cathedral captures the majesty and soaring spires of the beloved edifice, while reminding us all of the fragile nature of our historic architecture, the challenging climate of New Orleans, and the need to restore and preserve this iconic Louisiana treasure.

The Cathedral is in need of restoration due to a number of issues, including settlement, water damage, and deteriorating plaster. The slate roof has cracked over time, causing water to flow into the ceiling, damaging the plaster, harboring termites, and weakening the integrity of the structure.

The St. Louis Cathedral Elevation Detail, 26" x 28"
Sale Price: $1,200.00 Original Price: $1,600.00

This study of the Cathedral depicts the upper elevation is a softer, more muted style, with a grey wash finish, and matte almond/bone stain on the structure.

It’s a perfect piece for entry way, bedroom, dining area, kitchen, or landing- without being overstated or too large. Durable resin casting of Marc’s original bas relief work, with the clock set at 2 o’clock.

Mounted on panel board and solid wood framed edge.

The finish can also be done in a neutral (a soft sandstone tan) finish, or Marc’s popular midnight blue. Call for further information 985 966 7000.

Gray artwork pairs well with many colors, including blues, pinks, reds, oranges, and more. The best colors to pair with gray depend on the undertone of the gray, with this work being a light wash more than a substantial blackened gray.
